A man who vocally supports Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has addressed an anti-vax rally in Sydney, just a day after he was released from jail for breaching court orders.

Notorious Russian nationalist Simeon Boikov, 32, who lives in Sydney and goes by the name Aussie Cossack online, addressed an anti-vax rally in Martin Place on Saturday beside a picture of Vladimir Putin, where he repeated to the crowd his admiration for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Mr Boikov, who was released on parole on Friday from the Longbay Correctional Complex where he had been since June, after he received a 10-month jail term for publicly naming an alleged paedophile.

He took to the crowd and gave a speech including topics from Prince Charles to Australian wildlife.

The small crowd of approximately 100 protesters was told that he had his “arms chained, in an orange jump suit, like Guantanamo Bay, and my legs were chained.”

“It was actually outrageous,” he said.

Among the crowd, where people were heard to say that a retired High Court judge had recently admitted that the Australian government had no basis in law, was former Liberal MP Craig Kelly.

Mr Kelly lost his lower house seat of Hughes in May’s federal election.

Mr Boikoc also told the crowd he had received more than 5000 letters of support while he was in prison, something that was “very touching.”
